Hunter waved his hand dismissively. “Let’s not dwell too much on him. You’re right though, he is a weirdo.” He smirked wryly.
“I wish I knew it to.” Then he could figure out how it ended, and see if there was actually any hope for him and Holly. But then again, that was a fairy tale and it probably ended well — this was real life and well… it’ll probably be a much bleaker turn out. For him, at least. Maybe somewhere in a gutter, face down and bleeding? Who knows. He laughed anyway, “I’m an adorable miscreant? Well, I think that’s a step up from the last thing someone called me. Ah — ah! Don’t even try to hide it!” He pointed at her. “You almost snorted right there! Dooon’t try to hiiiide it!” He laughed playfully.
“Sure, Holly. We can serenade each other and your brother will then throw me out of a window for 1) gallivanting around with you and 2) driving away customers with my warbling.” He snickered at the thought, and then he just burst out laughing at the tongue comment. “Yeah, I gotcha.” He couldn’t help the big smile on his face — of course he remembered her super awkward comment from before. How could he forget?
Hunter gave her a small, slightly tentative smile — a little dimmer than his previous grins, but still sincere. “Yeah. I wouldn’t mind it being a date. I’d kind of prefer it that way, y’know?”
Of course he’d point out that she snorted. Or almost snorted.”Shhhh!” she waved her hands around before covering her face. “Oh come on let it go.” she was turning bright red. Faking a frown just to stop smiling. “Come onnnn.” she dropped her hands and took a sip of her drink, glaring over at the man. “Yeah, miscreant!” she nodded, confirming the words. There were a few other ones that could have described Hunter: Adorable, handsome, sweet, charming, hilarious. She wasn’t about to list off those just yet.
“He’d do no such thing.” she huffed, leaning back against the chair. “Anyway I’m sure you sing beautifully. I’m the one what sounds like a stray dog howling.” she shook her head, taking another sip of her drink “I mean honestly, nothing would make me happier, sing for me sometime.” honestly, she’d heard people sing before but Holly had never actually had anyone sing TO her. It was a pity it was one of those things that she’d always wanted someone to do for her. That and hold her hand gently.
Okay so it was lame, but the only person that ever held her hand was Ben and that was to pull her along. Tight squeeze while near yanking her arm off. She wanted that sweet soft holding with a thumb gliding over the back of her hand. Holly was a bit of a sucker for romance.
The food was placed in front of her at just the right time. Hunter admitted he liked the idea of a date. “Then it’s a date.” she said, trying to contain her excitement but ending up almost shouting it anyway. Quickly she took a big bite of the burger and chewed at it, trying to hide her smile. Wasn’t working so well…

Threatened? No that’s cute.
You don’t have a name? It was just a little harmless flirting.. nothing to worry about!

I bet it was! Of course I have a name, I’m surprised you don’t know it.
